Together We Recover In Nature
‘Together We Recover in Nature’ is our recovery project (referral only) that started in Spring 2025, taking place every Tuesday from 10am – 2pm at Drygrange Community Woodland, near Earlston. This project runs in 10 week blocks, with two blocks being delivered each year, and we are in the second year of this project. This programme is funded by The Corra Foundation.
‘Together we recover in Nature’ is for you if:
You are in recovery (from substances)
you want to connect with others in recovery in a therapeutic, natural environment
you wish to improve your wellbeing
you want to be part of a safe, non-judgemental group
Each session will include a wellbeing practice, such as mindful nature connection, breathing or meditation; community jobs, such as chopping firewood or cooking lunch; and a creative activity, such as crafting or green woodworking projects; if the weather is good we may walk to the river; as well as plenty of time to chat and connect and, of course, a nourishing lunch.
The group leaders will provide wellbeing support through a mix of sharing their experiences of what has worked for them and their skills in mindfulness, breathwork and meditation.
The staff team are in recovery themselves or have friends/family members in recovery.
The atmosphere will be relaxed and informal – a safe space to have time out, to connect and to prioritise your wellbeing, so that together we can recover in nature.
You must be at least 16 years of age to attend, and must be referred for this project.
